A Poetry Comic
Sparrow was my first book project. Published in 2024 it was an experiment in a new genre– Poetry Comics.
I wrote the poem, scripted it as a graphic novel format with a 9:16 aspect ratio to be read mobile-first on a smartphone. I work with a digital pipeline. The illustrations were drawn, by hand, in Clip Studio Ex. File conversions and adjustments were made in Photoshop.
I hand-coded the EPUB to ensure it complied with the EPUB 3 standard (I am an Invited Expert for the W3C Publishing Maintenance Working Group–The group responsible for the EPUB standard). This ensured it would display correctly on all major platforms that support the EPUB standard (Amazon, Apple, Kobo, Google Books, Barnes and Noble, Ingram Spark)
After the ebook was completed and published, I reformatted the book in InDesign for print.
