Realization for today.
My attention is a valuable thing. It determines what ideas and images I let into my psyche and experience. I can determine what I’m paying attention to by how I feel. My emotional energy is a pointer to what is going on in my thoughts and beliefs. Am I believing in a falsehood about myself, or the world in which I live? Is the belief what has me upset?
I can realize what I am by realizing what I am not. That strategy in determining what to believe is consistent with the ideas expressed by Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, Ernest Holmes, and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. By scrutinizing an idea, and determining it is a falsehood, I no longer give it the importance of my attention it once had. My attention, my desire, is now free to experience something different. That old belief will no longer have an influence on me. My emotions will shift as a result.
What a beautiful thing emotions are. They give me so much information about myself.
